History:
The Kendrick Mansion is a 14,000 square foot mansion that was built between 1908 and 1913. It was home to John B. Kendrick, a successful Wyoming politician. Architecturally, it contains American Gothic, Victorian, Edwardian, and Prairie styles on the inside. The exterior of the Kendrick Mansion is Flemish

In 1979. the 3,000 square foot carriage house was converted into a community theater where productions are still put on each summer.
When we first arrived in Sheridan, Wyoming, we went to the Sheridan Inn to interview some folks and learn a little more about paranormal stuff going on in the community. When we first walked into the inn, we met up with a young girl who was seating folks in the restaurant inside known as The Grille. We told her who were are and asked her if she knew of any paranormal activity that had taken place in the inn. She looked at us blankly. I think we scared her a little or maybe she just had a quick brain glitch. At any rate, she stood there glazed and confused for a moment before another, older, graying fellow walked in and sat down to wait for steak. He was, in contrast, a talkative fellow who was quite happy about being interviewed. He wore a gray suit and crossed his legs knowingly but denied knowledge of anything “paranormal” at the inn. He said he used to work for the newspaper and encouraged us to come back in 2-3 weeks to see their community festival, expertly circumnavigating around our questions about ghosts, etc.. But he was a nice guy and he helped us find the cemetery, which had proven somewhat hard to locate. Seemed at though the topic of the paranormal was a little outside of the comfort zone for the people here.
Sheridan is a fairly isolated community up near the desolation of Montana. It is a nifty little town, though, wherein many of the buildings downtown are still originals.
